Why am I choosing to live a non toxic lifestyle? Why am I making better choices for personal care products? Because now I know better! Now I know that the FDA does not regulate the ingredients that companies put in to their products nor do they require products to be tested for safety on human health. We’re working to change that. Who are we? Beautycounter.
Up until two years ago, I never thought about that. I trusted in the product labels that read “natural” and “safe” but that really is not the case. Did you know that the FDA only bans 30 harmful ingredients? 30. The European Nation bans over 1,400!!! Wow… think about that for a moment. When founder and CEO of Beautycounter Gregg Renfrew had a vision and started her company, the US only banned 11 harmful ingredients. That was only four years ago. Now we are up to 30 but that’s still not acceptable. Beautycounter bans over 1,500 harmful and toxic ingredients from their products. They have created a “Never List” of ingredients that they will never put in their products. Most of the ingredients listed on the never list are ingredients linked to cancer and other harmful diseases as well as infertility and birth defects.
Beautycounter does not perform testing on animals, the products are vegan and most products are gluten free. They are a “B” corporation. A “B” Corporation puts people first, planet second and profit third. They care about the people using their products, they only use replenishable resources and recyclable packaging and finally, profit is last. What I love most about the company is their mission statement: To Get Safer Products into the Hands of Everyone. That’s why I chose to become a consultant.
Now, enough about statistics and the scary stuff, let’s talk about their amazing products! Beautycounter has a complete skincare line, baby line, kids line, hair care and makeup. They even launched a men’s line during the holidays last year that will turn into a permanent line later this year. But just because their products are safer doesn’t mean that they are not high performing. What I love right at this moment is the Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion. This lightweight lotion helps skin adapt to the ever-changing aggressors of modern life by adjusting hydration levels throughout the day for a smooth look and feel, and a radiant glow. Beautycounter has developed Bio-Mimic Technology to harness the unique life-giving properties of plants to exactly match the structure of skin, giving it precisely what it needs and nothing it doesn’t. With this crazy Georgia winter, one week in the 30’s and the next week in the high 70’s, this technology is so important for my skin! Countermarch has a complete line that includes Intense Moisture Serum, Eye Rescue Cream, and the Recovery Sleeping Cream.

Another favorite and staple in my daily skin care routine is the superb Charcoal Cleansing Bar. The Charcoal Cleansing Bar detoxifies and absorbs impurities in your skin without drying it out, resulting in a smoother, brighter complexion. It is made with antioxidant-rich, organic green tea and hydrating organic coconut oil, its gentle formula can be used daily on your face and body. Since it draws out impurities, it is truly amazing for teens/pre-teens who may be dealing with acne issues. If you would like to try a free sample of this charcoal cleansing bar, contact me below in the email section. I’d love to share this product with you!

In celebration of Beautycounter’s 5th Anniversary, they are proud to introduce a bold new lipstick that embodies our mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. This March, we’re going to Washington, D.C. to urge Congress to pass more health protective laws for the personal care industry.
I have signed up to meet with our local Member of Congress to hopefully advance the conversation on cosmetic reform and safer products for the consumers!
